The Raiders’ Offense Could Look Different Next Season

The Las Vegas Raiders will keep Antonio Pierce as their permanent head coach moving forward. Still, their offense could have a very different look next season.

The Las Vegas Raiders finally have their head coach of the future locked in, with Antonio Pierce recently being named the coach of the Silver and Black moving forward.

While the Raiders won’t make a head coaching change, and nearly all of their defense will return, their offense could have a very different look when they enter next season, depending on how free agency and the NFL Draft turn out.

This offseason, the Raiders will have multiple players on their offense set to become free agents. That list includes three of their starting offensive linemen — Jermaine Eluemunor, Greg Van Roten, and Andre James.

Eluemunor has been with the Raiders for the last three seasons, and James has been with the Raiders his entire five-year career in the NFL, while Van Roten played in nearly 98 percent of the offensive snaps this season, ranking as one of the better offensive guards in the league.

The Las Vegas Raiders' offense could look completely different next season.

The Raiders probably could sustain losing one of the aforementioned offensive linemen to free agency. However, if the Raiders somehow failed to bring back more than one of those players, their offensive line could be in for a rebuilding next season.

As well as their offensive line, the Raiders have to decide on what to do with star running back Josh Jacobs, who, like James, has spent his entire career with the Raiders.

Jacobs’ return to the Raiders became much more likely with Pierce becoming the permanent head coach, but it is no guarantee that he will be back in Las Vegas next season.

The return of Pierce means the offense and the Raiders could return relatively intact next season with only a few additions and tweaks being made to the roster.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
