Max Verstappen mother say’s to disown his son if he leaves red bulls for …
During the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Jos Verstappen was present, but Max Verstappen‘s mother, Sophie Kumpen, didn’t miss a second of the race at home either. Verstappen’s maturity has certainly helped this season, and Kumpen has admitted she is proud of that.World champion Verstappen had been allowed to overtake Perez for sixth in order to hunt down Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and take points off of him.
Leclerc is currently competing with Perez for second in the drivers’ world championship, and after Verstappen failed to gain any positions, he was told on team radio: “Max, let Checo through, please.”
The Dutchman was then asked ‘what happened’ after he held position, and replied: “I told you already last time, guys don’t ask that again to me, OK? Are we clear about that? I gave my reasons and I stand by it.”
It has widely been reported that Verstappen was referencing qualifying in Monaco earlier this season when it’s alleged Perez admitted to crashing in order to line-up ahead of his teammate, and eventually take victory at the prestigious event.
Speaking on the radio after the event, Perez said: “It shows who he really is,” before adding post-race, “I think if Max has two championships it’s because of me.”
With Verstappen receiving criticism for his actions a year on from Perez’s crucial impact in helping him seal a title win over Lewis Hamilton in Abu Dhabi, his mother has now jumped to his defence with a shocking allegation.
