Green Bay’s practice roster on Thursday consisted of five non-participants and six limited participants.

A mixed bag describes the Green Bay Packers’ injury report heading into their game against the Chicago Bears. While some athletes appear to be feeling the effects of playing 17 games, others are trending positively.

Let us begin with some positive news.

Cornerback Jaire Alexander (shoulder), inside linebacker De’Vondre Campbell (neck), center Josh Myers (neck), and receiver Dontayvion Wicks (chest) were among the players that participated fully in Thursday’s practice. Although Alexander was suspended, Campbell, Wicks, and Alexander did not play against the Minnesota Vikings last week. On Wednesday, Myers’ neck ailment was listed on the injury report. With the Bears on Sunday, maybe all these contributors will be primed for a win-and-in game.

Running back Aaron Jones (knee/finger), tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney), safety Jonathan Owens (knee), receiver Jayden Reed (chest), defensive lineman T.J. Slaton (knee/foot), and wide Christian Watson (hamstring) were among the few players limited to practice today. With Samori Toure on injured reserve after the Vikings game and three other players injured at the position, receiver is a position of particular interest for the team.

Running back AJ Dillon (thumb/neck), safety Rudy Ford (hamstring), left lineman Elgton Jenkins (knee/ankle), inside linebacker Isaiah McDuffie (concussion/neck), and outside linebacker Preston Smith (ankle) were not present for practice on Thursday. In the same game that Jenkins sustained an ankle injury in addition to the knee injury he has been battling this season, Dillon worsened his thumb injury once more against the Vikings. Smith, who just had the greatest game of his 2023 season, appears doubtful for the Bears game because of an ankle ailment of his own.

McDuffie, who has filled in for Campbell and Quay Walker due to injuries this season, is not expected to play against Chicago either. Trainers assisted McDuffie in leaving the field and then wheeled him to his locker.

Eric Wilson, who has mainly contributed as a special team player and passing downs linebacker in his two years in Green Bay, will probably be the linebacker the Packers need off the bench.

The two players to keep an eye on on the Bears’ injury report are receiver Darnell Mooney (concussion) and cornerback Jaylon Johnson (shoulder). Despite being starters, neither player has taken part in either of this week’s practices thus far.
