sad news; legend Allen dies aged 35

At the age of 52, Dallas Cowboys icon and Pro Football Hall of Famer Larry Allen passed away.

According to the Cowboys, Allen passed away unexpectedly on Sunday while vacationing in Mexico with his family.

Guard Allen was selected in the second round of the 1994 NFL Draft and played for Dallas for 12 of his 14 seasons, including their triumph against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl 30 in January 1996.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013 after concluding his career with the San Francisco 49ers, when he was selected for his 11th and final Pro Bowl.

“Larry, known for his great athleticism and incredible strength, was one of the most respected, accomplished offensive linemen to ever play in the NFL,” the Cowboys said in a statement.

He was also known for his durability and adaptability throughout his career. As a result, he kept inspiring other athletes by exemplifying what it meant to be a fantastic teammate, rival, and victor.

“He was deeply loved and cared for by his wife, Janelle – whom he referred to as his heart and soul, his daughters Jayla and Loriana and son, Larry III.”
