Borussia Dortmund officially launched the BVB International Academy Ghana on February 7, 2026, marking its first academy on the African continent. Here are the key details:

Basic Information

– Location: Based at Achimota School in Accra.

– Partner: Cooperates with Accra Shooting Stars FC.

– Target Group: Boys and girls aged 6 to 18.

Academy Features

– Training System: Combines BVB’s globally recognized training standards with Ghanaian football culture, focusing on technical skills, discipline, leadership, education, nutrition, and personal development.

– Dual-Pathway Model: Caters to both elite talents pursuing professional careers and recreational players seeking structured training.

– Fees and Scholarships: Fees range from the cedi equivalent of 1,500 to 2,500 euros based on age and program; 20% of places are reserved for scholarships for underprivileged but talented players.

– Ambassador: Former Black Stars forward Ibrahim Tanko, who also led the Dortmund delegation to Ghana for the launch
