Phil Hay reports that Sky Sports questioned a Leeds United employee about ways to reconcile with fans.

Leeds supporters once more voiced their disapproval from the stands prior to, during, and following Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle (17 February).

For television coverage, the Whites are having more and more games shifted, sometimes to somewhat inconvenient timeslots.

Hay, in an article for The Athletic on February 18, stated: “Not too long ago, a Sky Sports employee asked a Leeds United staff member how the broadcaster could go about making peace with the club’s support.”

“Not so long ago, a Sky Sports employee asked a Leeds United staff member how the broadcaster could go about making peace with the club’s support,” wrote Hay in a story for The Athletic on February 18.

“The only response Leeds could provide was to maybe cease sending them to Plymouth Argyle at lunchtime on a Saturday, which is exactly where Leeds was yesterday, concluding their extremely focused search around the southwest of Great Britain.”

Leeds supporters criticize Sky Sports for changing the schedule.

Given Leeds’ prominence as second-tier giants, it makes sense for Sky to want to show as many games as they can.

Even more so in light of how heated the competition for automatic promotion is becoming closer to the crunch.

The main problem, though, is that many of these fixture changes—the trip to Home Park being one prominent example—do not take Leeds supporters into account.

Nobody thinks it’s pleasant to travel five hours to the South Coast in time for the kickoff at 12:30GMT.

Despite many schedule modifications made to make room for Sky Sports coverage, Leeds United supporters are still quite vocal in their support of the team.
However, this is merely the most recent instance; not to mention the occasionally tardy announcement of fixture modifications.
The simple fact is that unless something is done about the problem, fans will not stop chanting about Sky Sports.

Perhaps you could start genuinely demonstrating that you even remotely care about them if they genuinely wanted to mend fences with supporters…….
