BLOW FOR ROOSTERS: CAPTAIN JAMES TEDESCO TO MISS NEXT MATCH AFTER TRAINING INJURY

Sydney Roosters have been dealt a major setback with captain and star fullback James Tedesco sustaining an injury during a training session this week, ruling him out of the club’s upcoming fixture.

The 32-year-old – who only returned to action in last Saturday’s pre-season clash against Parramatta Eels – picked up the knock during routine drills, with the club confirming he will sit out to allow for proper recovery.

Tedesco, a cornerstone of the Roosters’ squad since 2018 and current NSW Blues representative, has been in strong form heading into the new season, making his presence felt in the side’s recent pre-season outings. His absence will leave a significant gap in both leadership and on-field impact for Trent Robinson’s team.

The Roosters are yet to announce a direct replacement for Tedesco, but attention is likely to turn to emerging talent or experienced squad members to fill the fullback role for the next match.

Further updates on his recovery timeline will be provided by the club in the coming
