Arsenal Keep Climbing, Gunners Edge Brighton to Strengthen Title Charge

Arsenal continued their Premier League title push with a hard‑fought 1‑0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Wednesday night, extending their lead at the top of the table.

The only goal of the game came in the ninth minute, when Bukayo Saka struck with a deflected effort that slipped past Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. The England star marked his 300th appearance for Arsenal with the decisive strike, a milestone he’ll remember as the Gunners moved further clear in the title race.

Despite dominating possession for long spells and creating more chances overall, Brighton couldn’t break down a disciplined Arsenal defence, with goalkeeper David Raya and centre‑back Gabriel Magalhães standing firm to preserve the clean sheet. This win also saw Raya reach his 100th Premier League appearance for the club, marking another notable milestone in the Gunners’ campaign.

Arsenal’s performance wasn’t perfect  they struggled to impose their usual attacking rhythm and often looked content to manage the game rather than dominate it but that grit proved decisive. Even when Brighton pushed forward in search of an equaliser, the visitors held firm.

The result moved Mikel Arteta’s side seven points clear at the top of the league, with rivals dropping points elsewhere helping boost Arsenal’s advantage. With every win now key in a tight title race, this gritty performance under pressure showed the kind of resilience teams need when chasing silverware.

Arsenal’s next fixtures will be closely watched by fans and pundits alike as the Gunners aim to maintain their climb and close in on a Premier League crown that has eluded them in recent seasons.
