Daniel Jones received a four-year, $160 million deal in 2022 after having his greatest season to date. But this year, he really declined, and an ACL tear forced him to miss the remainder of the season.
The quarterback for the New York Giants has been busy with his rehabilitation following an injury-plagued 2023 season. He hopes to return to full strength when the team opens training camp later this year.
During his recent appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday, general manager of the New York Giants Joe Schoen addressed the team’s quarterback position and gave an update on Daniel Jones’ progress.

Daniel Jones’ rehabilitation inspired Joe Schoen.
During his radio guest appearance, Joe Schoen discussed Daniel Jones’s recuperation in detail. He expressed optimism that the 26-year-old signal-caller has been working really hard to return to the pitch as soon as possible.
“He’s doing fairly well. He’s advanced to the point that he can run in a pool, according to Schoen. He works diligently there every day. I’ve mentioned it before: you have to back off because he is a youngster.
He’s in there working out early in the morning. He arrives there by 6:30 or 7:00 every day, having already completed his routine. He will thus put in a lot of effort, and maybe by the time camp begins, he will be prepared to go,” he continued.

Daniel Jones seems perfectly on pace, which is encouraging to him and the team as he was expecting eight to ten months to heal after surgery when he suffered his ACL injury in November.
Daniel Jones and the present QB predicament with the New York Giants
In 2023, backups Tyrod Taylor and Tommy DeVito have alternated starting for the New York Giants in Daniel Jones’ absence. Tyrod Taylor is slated to become a free agent this summer, so Joe Schoen intends to add another signal-caller, though they wouldn’t mind having Taylor return.

In any case, presuming he’s healthy by 2024, Daniel Jones is probably slated to start at quarterback for the New York Giants due to his enormous deal.
