Colorado releases the date of the Black and Gold Day spring game in 2024.
The Buffs’ yearly spring game will take place on April 27 this year, as announced on Thursday by athletic director Rick George and head coach of Colorado football Deion Sanders. The Children’s Hospital of Colorado will host a field day for kids as part of Black and Gold Day, which will revolve around the game.
The frigid spring game at Folsom Field last year drew a sell-out crowd of 47,277 fans who witnessed Coach Prime’s Buffs in action. ESPN carried coverage of the match as well.
The spring game this year’s time and broadcaster will be revealed soon. Sales of tickets will begin “soon,” according to the CU athletics department.
With 28 new players scheduled to make their Boulder debuts this spring, including gifted rookies Drelon Miller, Kamron Mikell, and Jordan Seaton, Colorado supporters will need to closely examine the roster. The Buffs are also adding transfers like Samuel Okunlola and Will Sheppard.

Images: B.J. Green II, a new edge rusher for Colorado
With his commitment to Colorado on Monday, gifted edge rusher B.J. Green II became the most recent transfer portal player to join the Buffs this offseason.
The former walk-on committed to Washington after entering the portal and spending the previous three seasons at Arizona State. Luckily for the Buffs, head coach Deion Sanders was able to convince Green to transfer to Boulder. Sanders mentored Green while he was a young player in Atlanta.
Green recorded a team-high 11.5 TFLs and six sacks in 2023, one of which came against Colorado. He has one more year of eligibility when he enrols at CU.
