Inducted Into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Are Two Miami Players
Two of Miami’s best athletes are inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Two former players from Miami are on their way to Canton.
It’s an amazing honor that comes from many years of top-tier efforts at the greatest level. They are also joining nine more Hurricanes who already hold the greatest individual accolade in the NFL.
Players with legendary careers inside the Canton, Ohio, Hall of Fame walls, such as Ray Lewis (2018), Cortez Kennedy (2012), Jim Kelly (2002), and Ted Hendricks (1990), are now considered among the greats. They have Andre Johnson and Devin Hester joining them.
The NFL Honors last night revealed the 2024 inductees. Johnson and Hester are deserving recipients of the induction.
One of the most versatile return players in football history is Hester. Nineteen touchdowns in all from kickoff and punt returns! When it comes to being the best return man in NFL history, Hester is undoubtedly in the running. Writer Adam Rank of NFL.com concurs with his assessment on Hester’s induction into the Hall of Fame.
“The sense of anticipation you had when Devin Hester got ready to return a punt or kickoff was unmatched.” And now, appropriately, Hester is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, having waited a few years for the greatest accolade.”
In addition, he has 16 touchdowns, 3,311 yards, a 13-yard average, and 255 receptions. A pure receiver is the second Cane making its way to Canton.
In any NFL era, Johnson’s 1,062 receptions, 14,185 yards, 13.4-yard average, and 77 touchdowns rank among the finest. It was difficult for defensive backs to contain him because he was a powerful, large receiver.
Ranks is also accurate when he says that Johnson went to Canton.

The Miami Hurricanes are attempting to retain as many of the best local prospects in their current schools.
Several of South Florida’s best players, including 5-star defensive lineman Armondo Blount, 4-star safety Zaquan Patterson, 4-star receivers Joshisa Trader and Chance Robinson, and 4-star running back Jordan Lyle, were recruited by Mario Cristobal in the class of 2024.
CaneSport columnist Stephen Wagner posted predictions on Thursday indicating Miami will select two of the best local athletes in the class of 2025.
Similar to a 247Sports crystal ball, the recruitment prediction machine is an On3 Sports creation. Wagner projects that the Hurricanes will select four-star running back Byron Louis and defensive lineman Randy Adirika. At American Heritage Plantation, Adirika performs for Byron Louis and Miami Central. Both institutions serve as crucial Miami recruitment channels.
Akirika is a 6-5, 250-pound defensive lineman who is ranked 33rd in the class of 2025 by On3. In the last two cycles, Miami has acquired exceptional lineman from Central: Rueben Bain in 2023 and Armondo Blount in 2024.
Louis, a 6-0, 208-pound tailback, is ranked 16th in the class of 2025. Two cycles earlier, Miami selected Mark Fletcher, a former Heritage back, in the class of 2023.
Wagner recorded a 65% confidence level for his Louis prediction and a 70% confidence level for his Adirika prognosis.
