Celtic exit feels inevitable after Brendan Rodgers’ comments
In the Scottish Cup’s fifth round, Celtic defeated St Mirren on the road with a significant victory. Since the Hoops haven’t been playing well lately, this could have been a difficult game for them. As the Northern Irishman continues to look for answers, Brendan Rodgers modified his lineup, putting Adam Idah and Kyogo Furuhashi together. It was evident that pressure was building.
On that particular day, Daizen Maeda scored the other goal, with Kyogo scoring as well. Liel Abada was an intriguing exclusion from the squad, though.
When healthy, Abada has been a consistent starter for Rodgers’ squad. However, he did not appear in the match against St Mirren.
We are all aware of the problems. and the conjecture that has followed regarding Abada’s future. Furthermore, Rodgers attested to the winger’s poor mental state.
It is easy to see why a young player such as Abada could be struggling at Celtic at the moment. Instead of joining the fans in celebrating the victory with them after the match against Hibernian, he made a beeline for the tunnel.
Although there were rumors that he may relocate to England in January, it never happened. Abada’s departure from Celtic in the near future seems very certain right now, though.
It’s obvious that the circumstances are affecting him. Although he had a strong start to the season, he has changed once his injury has healed. Even while he is still quite effective in the last part of the pitch, it has diminished. And if things don’t change soon, it would be acceptable if he wanted to depart in the summer.
Chris Sutton blames Brendan Rodgers for Celtic hero’s struggles
Chris Sutton attributes the Celtic hero’s hardships to Brendan Rodgers
Celtic’s difficulties since Brendan Rodgers took over as manager in the summer to succeed Ange Postecoglou have received a lot of attention. Many think that the Northern Irishman is to blame for mishaps. Conversely, other people have brought attention to the team’s lackluster transfer activity this year.
Nonetheless, it is important to note that this team is full of triple champions. Furthermore, although it is true that Celtic has not been as ambitious in their player acquisitions, Rodgers has not made the most of the players at his disposal.
Perhaps the best illustration of that is Kyogo. The Japanese international is now having difficulty scoring goals, despite being by far the finest forward in Scotland.
It is obvious that he is not a good match for the game Celtic is now trying to play. Regretfully, though, Rodgers hasn’t made the necessary change to enable Kyogo to resume playing at his peak.
Sutton attributes the Celtic hero’s hardships to Rodgers
Football Scotland stated that Sutton spoke with the Daily Record, saying:
To be perfectly honest, Sutton’s assessment of the situation is accurate. Kyogo has just not been given enough opportunities to demonstrate his abilities.
At the moment, Celtic need goals that are consistent. However, it doesn’t appear like they are using their strengths—34 goals in only the previous season—to their advantage.
Many of Kyogo’s strengths have been neutralized by their lack of pace, which makes it much simpler for the opposing defense to cope with him. We could never see the best of the Japanese striker again if Celtic keeps playing with this deliberate build-up, and it wouldn’t be shocking if he
decided to depart later on. Hopefully, Rodgers will find a solution quickly and it won’t come to that.
