The latest on Diogo Jota’s injury and the matches he will miss for Liverpool as his “timeline for return defined”

Over the weekend, as Liverpool defeated Brentford, Diogo Jota sustained an injury. These are the games he will miss, and a report has described the severity of the problem.

The injury issue at Anfield is still troubling the Liverpool Reds in their pursuit of a quadruple, and it appears that attacker Diogo Jota will be out for some time. Over the weekend, Christian Nørgaard landed on Jota’s knee, and Jürgen Klopp acknowledged as much in the post-match press conference.

Jota has escaped the worst-case situation, but the Portuguese source Record reports that he will still likely miss two months of action. This is as a result of ligament damage sustained when being carted off against Brentford.

There will be more scans later today, the report says. However, Jota ought to be able to return to action this season, and the star player for Liverpool ought to be good to compete in the European Championship in Germany this summer. In his press conference tomorrow, before of the Luton match on Wednesday, Klopp will provide a more comprehensive update.

Jota, 27, will miss eight Premier League games if he does miss two months. He might make a comeback on April 20 when the team travels to Fulham. After that, he would miss Luton (H), Nottingham Forest (A), Manchester City (H), Everton (A), Brighton (H), Sheffield United (H), Manchester United (A), and Crystal Palace (H). The five league games that follow include Fulham.
