Browns Looking to Add Playmakers Around Amari Cooper
Even with Cooper’s quality, the Browns must more. Two reliable contributors were tight end David Njoku (81 catches, 882 yards) and wide receiver Elijah Moore (59 catches, 640 yards). However, Cleveland’s other pass catchers didn’t contribute much either.
It wouldn’t quite qualify as a “top priority” for Browns general manager Andrew Berry this offseason. He did, however, concede that the team might try to sign one or more playmakers.
We are still in the assessment phase, after all. We’re happy with our bunch of pass catchers,” Berry stated on February 1 to The Athletic. “I’m not aware of many NFL teams that have two pass catchers (David Njoku and Amari Cooper) who can compete for a Pro Bowl and a strong supporting cast. We’re constantly trying to bring on more players. However, I believe it would be aggressive to designate that as the primary objective.
The Browns might consider wide receivers Tee Higgins, Mike Evans, Gabe Davis, and Calvin Ridley.

Browns Ship Out $100 Million Receiver in Proposed ʻDreamʻ Trade
This offseason, the Cleveland Browns may have to make some difficult choices, like letting go of star pass-catcher Amari Cooper.
The New England Patriots have Cooper on their trade list, according to a recent hypothetical trade proposal from Bleacher Report. The Browns would receive some cap relief from it, but at a high price.
To start the Jerod Mayo era in New England, the Patriots would acquire a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver. Additionally, Cooper would get to work with Alex Van Pelt again, the offensive coordinator he left behind when he joined the Browns.
“Will the Browns cut loose talented receiver Amari Cooper? Not likely if they can stay away from it. Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report noted that selling him would free up $12.4 million in cap space, but Cleveland is now facing a $20.6 million deficit. “It would be a dream come true for the New England Patriots to get the 29-year-old.”
Browns Can Extend Amari Cooper This Offseason
Trade with Tain Cooper. Despite collecting receptions from four different quarterbacks during the previous season, he led the Browns offense. On 72 catches, he amassed 1,250 yards.
Cooper’s performance against the Houston Texans on Christmas Eve was exceptional. He set a franchise single-game record with 11 receptions for 265 yards.
“It is the intention to break records. Ultimately, it’s all just statistics. Although I don’t take anything for granted, Cooper stated on January 10 that it was the past. “You know, after I finish playing, I want to look back on my career in that sentimental kind of way,” I tell myself every time.
Cooper is a significant player on the roster, but the Browns can negotiate an extension to lessen the cap burden. Even though he will be 30 years old the following season, he still has a lot of energy. The Browns are considering a possible extension, and Cooper’s anti-diva mindset and durability on the field are important considerations.
Since joining the Browns in 2022, Cooper has exceeded all expectations. With a trade with the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland acquired Cooper for merely a fifth-round pick.
