Gators add commitment from Top247 OL Peyton Joseph

Florida has added one of the top ranked offensive linemen in the 2025 class to their commitment list

The Florida Gators 2025 recruiting class grew by one on Sunday afternoon, with Warner Robins (GA) Houston County four-star interior offensive lineman Peyton Joseph being the latest name to join the fold. He picked the Gators over finalist Florida State, Georgia Tech, and LSU.

This commitment comes a few weeks removed from a Junior Day visit to The Swamp. When taking a look at each of his finalists, the Gators offered a mix of things that fit the criteria of what he was looking at in his next home.

“It all came down to player development, culture of the school, and academics for all schools when I narrowed it down from those things with each school,” Joseph told Swamp247.

Before heading back to Florida last month, the 6-foot-4, 305-pounder had been to campus on previous occasions. Having a few trips under his belt already allowed him to make an informed decision. He’s comfortable with Gainesville, as well as the coaching staff.

“It’s really the city, the people, the fans. It’s a great place to be.”

On the field, the Gators see Joseph fitting in on the interior part of the offensive line. He’s a big body, that plays with a mean streak. Those attributes are things that caught the attention of offensive line coach Rob Sale and others on staff.

“We talked about my explosion off the ball, and how physical I am. The coaches like that, and they talked about how I could come in be a big impact in the inside, but only comes if I come in and work for it.”

There is currently a recruiting dead period in place, which is keeping Joseph from visiting Florida. That will lift in a few weeks, which will allow him to get back to The Swamp to get even more acclimated with the staff and program. He plans to be a frequent visitor at UF, and also hasn’t taken the possibility of visiting some other programs down the line off the table.

“I will be there a lot of times after the dead period,” Jospeh said of Florida. “To get myself used to my environment, and I may take a few more visits for OV’s. I haven’t set any dates [for those official visits], but may set them after the spring.”

With Jospeh now committed to the Gators, he plans to recruit some other names from the South Georgia area to join him in the class. He’s got a few names in mind already that will be in his crosshairs.
