breaking news.‘No doubt’… Don Goodman tells Leeds to build their team around 22-year-old if they go up
Crysencio Summerville has been Leeds United’s go-to player for the most of the 2023–24 season, and his stats support this assertion. He has tallied an incredible 25 goals and 25 assists thus far this year.
The 22-year-old hasn’t contributed to a goal in our past four Championship games, which is a drought by his extraordinarily high standards. However, he has excelled for Leeds this semester.
With 10 league games left to play, Summerville will be absolutely key in Leeds pushing for a place in the top two and securing automatic promotion. His long-term future looks as though it will be with Leeds. Indeed, he has a deal until 2026 and Leeds are confident of keeping him – but it may be that promotion is required to prevent Summerville’s head from turning. He could be the long-term future of our attack. Don Goodman has told FLW that Leeds need to build their side around Summerville and ignore any interest in the former Feyenoord star. He is confident Leeds will avoid a
Sheffield United, or a Burnley.
I think he would be better off sticking with Leeds. I’ve got no doubt that if and when Leeds get promoted they’ll build a team around him,” Sky Sports commentator Goodman said this week, to FLW. “I don’t think for a second that Leeds would do a Sheffield United and not invest, and you’d hope that they did a better job of investing than Burnley have done, with respect to Burnley,” Goodman continued.
