WR, a free agency, is supposedly acquired by the Steelers, a great star.
Ever since Diontae Johnson was traded to the Panthers, the Steelers have been searching for a wide receiver. It is said that they were on the verge of signing one of the best free agents, but circumstances have since changed.
Tyler Boyd, a former wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh are at a standstill, according to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic.
Kaboly stated, “They’re trying to wait out Tyler Boyd,” during “The Fan Morning Show” on 93.7 The Fan. “I’m not entirely sure how this will work out in the end. I am aware that he desires a higher salary than what they are giving him.”
Boyd is the front-runner to assist in occupying Johnson’s hole. He attended the University of Pittsburgh to play collegiate ball after growing up in Clairton, Pennsylvania.
Kaboly disclosed last week that Boyd and Pittsburgh also had a “mutual interest”. He said on Monday that “not everyone within the Steelers is 100% in favor of signing Boyd.”
Many were taken aback by the turn of events, but the issue lies if he’s overvaluing himself more than a week after free agency began.
Nonetheless, during the last six seasons, the 29-year-old wide receiver has averaged at least 50 catches and 650 receiving yards, making him one of the league’s most dependable players.

The Steelers now have to determine how long they will hold off on trading Boyd before looking elsewhere. Sooner rather than later, they need to bolster their wide receiving corps, which is severely lacking after George Pickens.
There have also been rumors that Pittsburgh is looking to trade for a wide receiver. The 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk and the Commanders’ Terry McLaurin have been linked to the team, although acquiring both players will be expensive.
The Steelers will still be able to select a playmaker in the 2024 NFL Draft, which is loaded with wide receiver skill, even with Boyd added. However, it will enable them to allocate their increased draft capital to other positions that are in need, such right tackle and center.
It remains to be seen how the Boyd situation develops, but Pittsburgh will find itself in a difficult position with multiple need areas after the majority of free agency has passed.
