For Cresswell, the center-half for Leeds United, this year has been frustrating. The defender has only made five appearances for the Whites this season despite signing a new long-term contract on the eve of the 2023–24 campaign and being given the number five shirt.

Cresswell’s United teammate Archie Gray scored on his debut. Gray became the fourth-youngest player in England U21 history to score a goal.
