Manchester City have just received a big injury blow ahead of facing Newcastle on Saturday
During the international break, Belgium will play friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and England. The team has revealed their lineup for both matches.
Amadou Onana, a transfer target for Newcastle United, C, and Romelu Lukaku are among them, but their best player is conspicuously absent.
The Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne is not included in the Belgium team due to a “minor groin issue.”
That is unfortunate for Belgium, and it also seems likely that he won’t play in the match against Newcastle on Saturday night.
In January, De Bruyne made the difference against Newcastle.
In the previous meeting, he was the difference between the two sides. Man City’s 3-2 victory was entirely attributable to De Bruyne’s entrance.
The 32-year-old scored a stunning equalizer after coming off the bench, then in stoppage time, he made a brilliant pass that allowed Oscar Bobb to score the winning goal. Newcastle was devastated since they could do nothing to stop KDB’s skills.
However, it now appears that he will miss Newcastle’s match this weekend as they attempt to win at the Etihad for the first time since 2014.
It remains to be seen if De Bruyne’s absence will help them, as Eddie Howe’s team still has to contend with Bernardo Silva, Doku, Rodri, Erling Haaland, and more.
