Steelers Have Signed A Veteran Running Back

Over the course of the 2023 NFL season, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive coordinator, Matt Canada, was fired by the organization due to excessive offensive performance.

The Steelers were never able to improve offensively, even after splitting with Canada, and it was something they would need to deal with when the NFL offseason started.

The squad’s first priority going into the summer was to address the quarterback position because starting quarterback Kenny Pickett was just not providing the team with adequate production.

Pittsburgh traded Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles because they felt he wasn’t the right guy at center and decided to add Justin Fields and Russell Wilson to strengthen the position instead.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter via Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, the Steelers have upgraded at quarterback in addition to adding one of the most dynamic offensive players in NFL history in Cordarrelle Patterson.

With his ability to accomplish nearly everything on the football field, Patterson will attempt to reshape the offensive landscape for the Steelers after three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.

In 14 games with the Falcons the previous season, Patterson ran for 181 yards and caught nine catches for 38 yards and a score.

Although it is evident that Patterson had a poor year in 2023, the Atlanta offense was a complete chaos as the team seemed unsure of how to employ him following two seasons in which he had amassed 1,983 all-purpose yards and 19 touchdowns in total for the Falcons.
