American football linebacker Federico Anthony Warner was born on November 19, 1996, and currently plays for the San
Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). In the third round of the 2018 NFL draft, the 49ers selected him while he
was a college football player for the BYU Cougars.[1]
Warner, the oldest of two sons and one daughter, was born in San Marcos, California, on November 19, 1996, to Laura and Fred
Warner.[2][3][4] On his mother’s side, he is half Mexican-American, and on his father’s side, he is half African-American and half
Panamanian. Warner was raised by his mother as a single parent after his parents divorced when he was a baby.[5] Following a
period of trying out several sports, Warner started playing football at the age of seven. He and his mother have acknowledged that
playing football helped mold his teenage years by providing him with a sense of belonging.[5] Growing up, Warner and his father
were Dallas Cowboys fans, even though Warner had a lot of respect for several San Diego Chargers players.[4]
Warner was a linebacker for the football team at Mission Hills High School. He started for the varsity squad as a junior and was
recognized for his outside linebacker skills, earning him the title of All-San Diego Section Defensive Player of the Year.[4] In
addition, Warner won the Avocado East League Defensive Player of the Year award and was named to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State
First-team and the USA Today All-California First-team.[3]
