Las Vegas Raiders’ linebacker Maxx Crosby has a spouse!

On Saturday, the NFL player and his fiancée Rachel Washburn exchanged vows in Boulder City, Nevada’s Cascata Golf Club.

“It means so much,” Washburn says of the union to PEOPLE. “Marriage is forever; it’s promising no matter what is thrown our way that we will face it together and be the best team ever and love each other no matter what.”

When guests arrived at the ceremony, a string quartet performing contemporary love songs welcomed them ahead of their wedding. “We really used the venue as inspiration for the overall color palette and theme,” says Washburn.

The bride instantly recognized the dress she was wearing, designed by Madeline Gardner. “I truly got that feeling when I tried it on that it was the one,” Washburn relates. “I was so obsessed with the flower details and I absolutely loved the detachable train.”

Following the names of the couple’s three dogs, Leo, Brooklyn, and Durk, guests were treated to bespoke cocktails. Depending on the character of each dog, there were entertaining beverages like as Old Fashioned, Lemon Drop Martini, and Spicy Margarita. Salmon filets and bacon wrapped were dinner.

Legendary UFC announcer Bruce Buffer recorded the couple’s introductions specifically for them, adding a unique touch to their special day. Bruce Buffer welcomed the couple and their bridal party into the room.

Ella, Crosby’s 5-month-old daughter, and Washburn created their own vows to be exchanged at the altar. The couple describes this element of the ceremony as “so personal” and meaningful to them. “We love that we’re doing our own vows to each other,” Crosby says.

In the days leading up to the wedding, Washburn was most looking forward to “sharing our love” with friends and family. “And also to dancing all night long!”

Following the wedding, the couple danced outside with their loved ones while a romantic fireworks display went out. A dessert buffet comprising gelato, little cheesecake bites, macaroons, and a five-tier wedding cake with tiers of caramel, vanilla, red velvet, and funfetti cream cheese was enjoyed by the guests later in the evening.

Crosby played football and Washburn played soccer at Eastern Michigan University, where the couple first connected in 2016. “We visited this Mexican restaurant called Masa. Two months later, we were extremely good friends and went on dates,” Washburn recalls.

Crosby proposed during a trip to Utah on Feb. 25, 2022, with a custom ring made by And AL The Jeweler. “Maxx fully designed the ring himself,” says Washburn, adding, “Our Airbnb was in these amazing snowy mountains and he proposed right in front of the mountains,” she shares.

Now happily married, Washburn and Crosby are thrilled to start their new life together as husband and wife.
