Kobbie Mainoo, a midfielder for Manchester United, is questionable for Saturday’s Premier League match against Brentford.
Erik ten Hag’s team will return to the Premier League on Saturday night when they visit the Gtech Community Stadium, having finished their international break.

United will continue to hold out hope of making it into the Champions League for the next season, particularly if the Premier League is given an additional qualification spot.

The sixth-placed side are currently sitting six points adrift of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth spot and nine points away from Aston Villa in fourth position.

With Man United looking to close the gap to the teams above them, they know that they can ill-afford any slips up against Thomas Frank‘s side.

Mainoo has been dealing with illness this week, so there’s a chance they won’t have his services for the Premier League match.

Feeling under the weather, the 18-year-old skipped Thursday’s training session before reporting to Man United’s Carrington base on Friday.

He is still questionable for Saturday’s journey to West London, though, as Ten Hag is expected to decide on his participation at a later date.

Ten Hag said to reporters on Friday when they were questioned about Mainoo’s availability: “I don’t know, we hope.” He is here today; he is still recovering, but we still have a lot of time before tomorrow, when things get underway at 8:00 p.m.

Man United’s breakthrough star The Red Devils will be itching to include Mainoo because the young player is now valued highly in Ten Hag’s team.

Since November, Mainoo has made 20 appearances in competitive play to solidify his position as a mainstay in the starting lineup.

The teenage striker beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-3 in stoppage time to record his first Premier League goal in February.

Mainoo was called up to Gareth Southgate’s England team for their recent friendlies against Brazil and Belgium due to his outstanding performances.
