We appreciate your assistance with the Good Food Project, T.J. and Dani Watt! We sincerely appreciate your kindness and attention. Your assistance is greatly appreciated as we work to ensure that our Pittsburgh neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity have access to wholesome food. We value your enthusiasm, work ethic, and desire to learn more about what we do. We have increased the number of meals produced by the Good Food Project from thirty to one thousand meals each week because to the generosity of people like you. I appreciate your assistance.

Large, bulk gifts of excess food are given to the Good Food Project, and it might be challenging for a small organization to promptly collect and distribute such supplies. We ensure that these donations are utilized or disbursed right away by stabilizing them.

The Food & Energy Hub in Millvale is home to 412 Food Rescue’s Good Food Project. We turn extra food into wholesome, heat-and-eat meals and nutrient-dense grocery bags to give to neighbors who are facing food insecurity in this special communal area.

Kitchen Preparation: Under the direction of Chef Greg Austin, we use the MyPlate approach in our Zero Waste Kitchen. Our meals are made and served with dignity and are full of flavor and nutrients. Every meal is composed of good, recovered food that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill and is stored in compostable packaging.

Grocery Bagging Program: Large gifts of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable goods from contributors like Gordon Food Services are provided to neighborhoods experiencing food poverty as part of a cooperation with the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (HACP) to support nutrition. Each week, more than 500 grocery bags are packed and loaded onto our vehicle and delivered to different HACP locations after bulk foods have been repackaged into individual servings.
