Dodgers medical team has discovered James Paxton with …
The new Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher James Paxton talked with reporters about his health and future after having his one-year contract renegotiated due to health concerns. He stated that he plans to be ready to play in 2024
James Paxton, the newly acquired left-hander for the Los Angeles Dodgers, stated in an extensive interview with reporters that he anticipates being ready for the 2024 campaign. In 2023, he struggled with knee problems while playing for the Boston Red Sox.
Paxton also talked about how his 2024 contract arrangement changed, resulting in a $7 million guaranteed salary instead of a $11 million one.
British Columbia native Paxton was traded to the New York Yankees after pitching for the Seattle Mariners from 2013 to 2018. In 2021, he returned to Seattle for a single start; however, he sustained an injury during that start and required the previously described Tommy John surgery.
As previously said, Paxton’s career has regrettably been marred by injuries. Between 2020 and 2022, he made just six appearances and never started thirty games in a season. A season ago, he bounced back to start 19 games for Boston.
In 2024, he’ll be a part of the brilliant but dubious Dodgers rotation. Pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto has never appeared in Major League Baseball, while Tyler Glasnow is facing his own set of injuries. Bobby Miller has never pitched a complete season, while Walker Buehler is recovering from Tommy John surgery.
