Coventry City legend Kyle McFadzean is weighing up his options while in the enviable position of being a wanted man. The former Sky Blues skipper, who remains a huge favourite with the fans despite having moved away to Blackburn Rovers in January, is now pondering his next move as he fully intends to carry on his playing career for at least another campaign.
The 37-year-old more than played his part in keeping Rovers in the Championship this season, not least on the last day when John Eustace’s men saved themselves from the drop with a brilliant win at champions Leicester City.
And Eustace – another former Coventry captain – has told McFadzean that he wants him to stay on at Ewood Park, while the Sheffield-based player revealed he’s had other offers closer to home, which suggests newly relegated Rotherham may well have been on the phone to the free agent.

McFadzean started his career at Sheffield United but cross-city rivals Wednesday might also be an option after they narrowly beat the drop. Another South Yorkshire club that might be interested is Doncaster Rovers, who are currently in the League Two play-offs, bidding to get back to League One.
“We are speaking at the minute (with Blackburn), I’ve also had a few offers from back at home,” McFadzean told The Lancashire Telegraph.
“I’m open to it, we will see what happens. We’ve had talks this week and hopefully, we can get something sorted. I want to stay but you never know in football. It makes it harder because I’ve had some local teams that have offered me deals as well.
“We’ll see what happens but I’d like to stay so I’d like to get that sorted.
“I want to get it sorted as quickly as possible, then I can focus on next season. I want to see where my future lies. He’s (John Eustace) told me he wants me to stay and that’s a big thing for me. We’ll see what happens. First and foremost, it has to be right for me and my family.”
Asked if he feels he has more to offer, the veteran defender said: “I feel like I have a lot to offer. I think I can improve players and I have a lot to offer. Not just on that side but playing-wise as well,” he explained.
“I think I’ve got plenty more to offer. I think a good pre-season and coming back really fit will help as well.”
He added: “I back myself, I played my part a bit this season and I always back myself no matter what. I feel like I can still help and play for Blackburn Rovers regularly next season.”
