Tigirlily Gold performs the National Anthem at an NFL game. It just so happens that the game will be between the Packers and the Lions! While the ladies were here, I inquired if they’d be wearing Lions clothing on the field, and they replied they probably wouldn’t, because they don’t want to be booed off. Which is very understandable. Furthermore, Kendra was born in Racine, Wisconsin, so they presumably don’t want to cause any trouble. So, while they won’t be wearing Lions blue, the connection is still really cool, especially since they were just here. For the first time, the Lions will appear in the NFL’s showcase opener. It’s a huge endorsement for the Lions because the NFL typically saves showcasing in this game for teams who have recently won a Super Bowl, a division championship, or are one of the league’s most up-and-coming, marketable clubs. It means that the Lions will be a focal point in the buildup to the season for almost the entire summer. A date with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on big night appears daunting, and it is. But even being present is a significant accomplishment for the Lions, who have not received national notice in a long time.
