Sundowns lost their first and only loss of the season to Cape Town City FC, breaking ‘The Invincibles’ unbeaten streak. Meanwhile, the Chiefs finished a forgettable season with their 12th league loss of the season, dropping from eighth to tenth place. However, Orlando Pirates surpassed Stellenbosch FC to take second place on the log. Pirates drew their match against SuperSport United, but Stellies lost to Richards Bay, allowing the Soweto Giants to climb up to second place and qualify for the Caf Champions League. Richards Bay, who are at the bottom of the standings, have booked their spot in the PSL promotion/relegation play-offs for the 15th place team. They will compete in the play-offs to escape relegation to the National First Division, but Cape Town Spurs have already plummeted to the lower division.
