Even though Jonathan Owens, Simone Biles’ spouse, is now her biggest fan, when they first started dating he was unaware of her four Olympic gold medals.

The Green Bay Packers cornerback revealed earlier this week on The Pivot Podcast that Owens did not recognise Biles when the two initially linked on the dating app Raya in March 2020.

“I never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity, so I said, I’ll see what’s up,” Owens stated. “I swiped her, and it said we matched.”

“I didn’t know who she was at the time, but the first thing that I saw was that she had a bunch of followers, so in my mind I’m like, okay, she’s got to be good.”

Missouri Western State University football player Owens was competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics when Biles won individual gold medals in the vault, floor, and individual all-around events.

It’s reasonable to say that Owens now knows more about Biles’ professional accomplishments. The couple announced their marriage in April 2023, a little more than three years after they first met.
