lakers Without 3 Players for Remainder of 2024 Season: Report

The bad 2024 season for the Los Angeles Lakers just got worse. Things began to improve on March 18 after winning handily, 136-105, against the Atlanta Hawks.

But a fresh report on Jarred Vanderbilt, Christian Wood, and Gabe Vincent raises some red flags. For the rest of the season, Wood, Vanderbilt, and Vincent won’t be available for the Lakers, according to Bill Reiter of CBS Sports.

Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Christian Wood of the Los Angeles Lakers will miss the remainder of the season, according to sources who spoke with CBSSports. Although there is still a chance, sources indicate that Vanderbilt is not expected to return. Reiter wrote on X that ESPN broke the story about Wood first.

Wood is scheduled to have an arthroscopic treatment on his left knee, Vincent has missed a significant portion of the season due to a knee issue, and Vanderbilt is suffering with a foot injury.

An Update on Lakers Injuries from Darvin Ham
On March 15, head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers Darvin Ham provided an update on Wood, Vanderbilt, and Vincent. He made no mention of Wood’s need for surgery, which Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported less than a week later on March 18.

According to Lakers Nation, Ham provided the following update on the three injuries:

No, but there will be one shortly’, Ham remarked. “C-Wood, Gabe, and Vando are essentially in the status quo. We’ll see how Cam feels tomorrow after he spent some time on the court today. He probably won’t be in the starting lineup, but we’re happy with his tremendous growth as well.

Only five games have Vincent played for the Lakers, but in those five games, he has had a significant impact. He was hoping to provide the Lakers with a performance akin to what he provided the Miami Heat, playing more than twenty-five minutes every night.

With 20 minutes played every game, Vanderbilt has participated in 29 games. He has had offensive difficulties when With him in the starting lineup and shooting 29.6% from three-point range, the Lakers have a defensive-minded wingman who can guard the top player on the opposing side.

Lakers Can Still Be Successful in the Playoffs in 2024
The Los Angeles Lakers still have two of the best players in basketball, even though losing three of the team’s most crucial role players hurts. The Lakers will only be as good as LeBron James and Anthony Davis, regardless of who plays for them.
