thank god; I’ve always wished to play for a group like Sundowns. Lorch Thembinkosi

The recently signed Mamelodi Sundowns player Thembinkosi Lorch said he has always desired to play for the DStv Premiership winners.

This comes after big spenders Sundowns completed the acquisition of the Pirates player on transfer deadline day on Friday night, becoming one of the largest January signings in PSL history.

“I’ve always wished to play for a group like Sundowns.” Lorch told the Sundowns media, “I’m glad to be here and I’m excited to see the rest of the team.”

At Masandawana, the 30-year-old will play with huge names like Teboho Mokoena, Sipho Mbule, Bongani Zungu, and midfield master Themba Zwane.

Pirates announced in a succinct statement on Friday night that the club will be disbanding.

The announcement said, “After a discussion between the chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza and the Mamelodi Sundowns hierarchy, Thembinkosi Lorch is to leave Orlando Pirates Football Club.”

Pirates appreciate Nyoso’s assistance.
“The club extends its gratitude to ‘Nyoso’ for his tremendous contribution, adding yet another chapter to the club’s history. We hope he has a successful future in sports, along with his family.

The three-time DStv Premiership Player of the Season joined the illustrious Sundowns roster in January.

The Brazilians have already signed contracts with Cape Town-born Tashreeq Matthews from Swedish club IK Sirius and Argentine midfielder Matias Esquivel.
Esquivel’s most recent team in the Argentine Primera División was Club Atlético Lanús.

Masandawana also signed defender Zuko Mdunyelwa from Chippa United to a long-term contract in December.

Like Gift Leremi, Lebohang Mokoena, Teko Modise, and Oupa Manyisa, who also went straight from Pirates to Sundowns, Lorch is a follower.

After returning from Europe, former Pirates talents Benedict “Tso” Vilakazi, Andile Jali, and legendary defender Mbulelo “OJ” Mabizela joined the Brazilian team.
