Angel Reese’s branding and exposure off the court are just as vital to her entire image as her evident on-court abilities. Following a fantastic debut season with the Chicago Sky, which included her first All-Star Game appearance, Reese has continued to grow her portfolio and recently surprised fans by becoming blonde as part of a stylistic overhaul.

Since her time as a star player with the LSU Tigers in the NCAA, Reese has been able to weaponize her name, image, and likeness, leveraging her charismatic personality and seemingly gravitational pull to land sponsorship deals worth millions of dollars — far more than she earns in the WNBA. In a new advertisement narrated by Reese, the “Chi-town Barbie” even gave herself

One of those nicknames that simply makes sense.

Thank you for watching!

In a commercial for Beats by Dre headphones, Reese grabs the mic with many of today’s best sports stars, including Lionel Messi, LeBron James, Shedeur Sanders, and Sha’Carri Richardson.

In a voiceover, Reese adds, “Hey, it’s called chasing your dreams for a reason.” You have to go grab it. Live legends (Messi), grab it. Get it, Terminators (Manchester City striker Erling Haaland). “You know, walking double-doubles get it.”

Walking double-doubles” is an apt nickname for Reese, who last season broke WNBA legend Candace Parker‘s record for consecutive 10-plus point and 10-plus rebound games. Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds as a rookie; the rebuilding Sky narrowly missed the playoffs and fired coach Teresa Weatherspoon, who had established a close bond with Reese.

The identity of Reese’s next coach remains unknown, but Reese herself is very much a known quantity at this juncture — and her presence will only get larger as she prepares for her second season in the W.
