Unconfirmed reports are circulating across football gossip sites and social media claiming that former Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is in advanced talks over a sensational takeover of Ipswich Town.
The rumours suggest a potential deal worth an estimated £180-200 million could be on the table, covering full acquisition of the club’s shares and including additional investment earmarked for stadium upgrades and the first-team squad. It is being claimed that the proposed fee would see Abramovich take 100% control from the current consortium led by Portman Holdings LLC, with existing shareholders including Bright Path Sports Partners and Ed Sheeran set to receive substantial returns on their investments.
